On Wednesday, May 15th, a public ceremony will be held in Woodruff Park to commemorate National Police Week (May 12-18, 2024). The ceremony will commence promptly at 9:00 a.m. near the Give Our Police A Hand Monument, dedicated by the Atlanta Bar Association in 1980.
Members of the Atlanta Interagency Law Enforcement (ILE) Partnership aims to honor the dedication and service of public safety agencies throughout the city and state. The Atlanta Downtown Improvement District, Inc. (ADID), Atlanta Police Department, Atlanta Bar Association, and Atlanta Bar Foundation are proud partners in hosting this memorial service.
Participating law enforcement agencies include the Atlanta Police Department; Georgia State University Police; Georgia Institute of Technology Police; Georgia State Patrol, Capitol Division; MARTA Police; Georgia World Congress Center Authority Police; the Federal Protective Service; the National Park Service; Fulton County Sheriff’s Office; Fulton County Police; and Emory University Police.
This ceremony serves as a meaningful tribute to the brave men and women who dedicate their lives to ensuring the safety and security of our communities. We invite the entire downtown community to join us in expressing our gratitude and appreciation for their unwavering commitment and service.
